Our Story
Owners Joe and Chris Valdez of Nature’s Choice Wellness share a deeply personal connection to hemp and holistic wellness. Their journey began during a life-changing moment when Joe underwent what was expected to be a routine outpatient surgery—but awoke partially paralyzed from the waist down. After extended time in the hospital and in an in-patient rehabilitation center, Joe was discharged in severe pain and unable to walk.
Traditional, non-holistic treatments only caused his condition and pain levels to worsen. Determined to find another way, Joe and Chris began researching hemp and other phytocannabinoids. After incorporating these into his wellness routine, Joe gradually experienced reduced pain and improved quality of life. With time, dedication, and hard work, he was able to leave the wheelchair behind. Today, Joe is walking, active, and living life to the fullest with little to no pain.
“There was a lot of good that came from such a difficult situation,” Chris says. “Now we are able to share our knowledge with our customers about hemp, mushrooms and kava, alongside our trained and educated staff.”
